The Department of Biological Sciences is excited to begin the search for an Administrative Support Associate! This position will perform a mixture of administrative and clerical duties that are essential to the functionality of the department.

Essential Functions

  • Data gathering and management
  • Departmental correspondence
  • Filing
  • Calendar Management
  • Event Scheduling
  • Registration for students
  • Mail Distribution
  • Answering the department's main phone line
  • Purchasing/Ordering supplies
  • Advising faculty, staff, and students of policies and procedures
  • Acting as a liaison to other departments, clients, and students on behalf of the Department Chair and Business Manager.
  • Assisting with budget coordination, human resources administration, preparation of reports/documents/presentations, and project coordination.
  • Scheduling classrooms
  • Entering course information into Auburn University student scheduling system
  • Maintaining grades/registration
  • Conducting teaching effectiveness surveys
  • Assisting students with academic or financial issues
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications
Level I: high school diploma or equivalent with two (2) years of experience in clerical and administrative support services.

Level II : High school diploma or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience in clerical and administrative support services.

When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one-year relevant education per year of required experience.

  • Experience in Banner
  • Experience in student registration
