Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Directs established programs of the organization ensuring all governmental regulations and accreditation standards are met. Coordinates with other department heads, supervisors, and various committees to facilitate efficient program administration and monitor current status, effectiveness, and needs of programs. Develops new programs through collaborative efforts with supervisors, other division directors, local businesses, communities and other agencies and plans the most effective ways to implement and present these new ideas to business and the community. Coordinates with External Affairs all marketing and fund raising for assigned division including promotional literature, public relations, meetings/presentations/community events with business and community leaders, referral sources, etc. Prepares and administers annual divisional budget from the state and grants including adjusting for seasonal fluctuations of expenses. Develops and implements division's annual operating plan, goals, and objectives. Represents SCS and/or division by serving on a variety of organization and community task forces, advisory committees, and/or boards. Monitors and analyze trends for implementation into divisional long-term planning. Conducts training sessions for divisional staff and develops trainings and materials for other agencies. Research and develop grants related to needed Prevention services in the Seven Counties Services region. Ensures the division's overall financial performance. Monitors quality and effectiveness of division's services and service providers to ensure stakeholder satisfaction with the division. Write reports for various state funding resources. Attend various state-wide workgroups and meetings as required by the state Oversee regional needs assessments, workplans and data collection for Prevention. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Master's degree in Public Health Administration, Addiction, Behavioral Sciences, Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, Education, Social Work, or other related field of study.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial analysis, budget development and administration, and related business activities.
  • Knowledge of program development, grant writing, and community organization.
  • Good public relations and public speaking skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good supervisory skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory codes and accreditation standards.
  • Reliable transportation for daily travel between work sites.

EXPERIENCE

  • Four to six years of experience developing, implementing, managing, and promoting programs for a clinical organization. Must currently have or be working on obtaining a Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) certification. If working on CPS it must be obtained within one year from the date of hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position has no unusual physical demands. Typical office environment.

Within the bounds of their respective job descriptions, all staff are expected to exercise principle-centered leadership, focused on customer service responsiveness, with a continuous quality improvement orientation. Additionally, all staff are expected to develop a working knowledge of and follow all policies and procedures related to safety management and other Joint Commission standards.
