Job Responsibilities |
Provide career coaching services and career educational programs to students, faculty, staff and alumni on career development related topics and programs. Oversee and support the planning, logistics, communication, and the coordination of large scale programming and events of the office including career fair. Assist with office assessment data including the First Destination Survey and Handshake analytics. This role supports general operations of the Career Services department including presentations, recruitment functions and social media marketing. This role involves collaborating with a variety of internal, and external, campus partners to ensure events have a maximum positive impact on students and the institution.
- Provide holistic individual and group career coaching related to career planning, preparation, professionalism and best practices.
- Oversee all logistics, program planning, communication, implementation and management for the office including the career fair and other office programming events across campus
- Create, promote and provide a variety of educational career-related programs, seminars, workshops and classroom presentations to students, faculty and staff
- Help maintain department website, social media outlets, and Handshake analytics
- Collaborate with student groups/clubs
- Become aware on best practices in the field and be able to educate students, faculty, and staff on them through collaborative efforts
- Communicate regularly and effectively with students, faculty, staff, and alumni regarding employment opportunities, career program/services offerings, employer recruiting events, and important career trend information
- Strategically promote and analyze opportunities, programs, and activities to current students through targeted technology and digital marketing campaigns to drive engagement
- Respond promptly and professionally to student, parent, and faculty inquiries including problem solving, suggesting, and implementing solutions
- Assist with office assessment data including the First Destination Survey, program evaluations and feedback, tracking student progress and end of year reports
- Support and collaborate with the team on employer events and activities
- Stay up to date on current trends and best practices including involvement in professional associations
- Collaborate with a variety of internal, and external, campus partners to ensure events have a maximum positive impact on students and the institution.
- Coordinate hiring and management of student workers
- Assist with other projects, administrative duties, and initiatives as assigned

Education / Experience |
A Bachelor's degree in psychology, social sciences, business, human resources, education, communications, social work or related field. Or prior experience working in a higher education setting or career office. Must have prior work with organizing and executing large scale events/programs with multiple constituents. Experience with presenting workshops and collaborating with multiple constituents.

Competencies / Skills |
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship building skills. A record demonstrating capability in presentation skills and proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community organizations. Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with large scale event planning. Other essential qualities include: strong listening, collaboration and communication skills, solid writing ability and presentation skills. Knowledge of career related topics/best practices or a willingness to learn and an appreciation and interest in working with diverse students, employers and faculty.Industry/employer relations work and career assessment knowledge is a plus.
