Summary of Job Duties:The ALARM and Life Safety Shop Foreman will be responsible for supervising, plan, coordinate and schedule work assignments for personnel; Installation and maintenance of fire alarm and security alarm systems in campus buildings, maintaining/updating fire suppression systems, emergency generators, alarm software, campus database for card access and security cameras and other life safety. This position will also be responsible for coordinating and scheduling remodel and/or alteration projects and routine and/or emergency maintenance projects. Checks status of current jobs, order materials, close out work orders when jobs are complete. Tracks required training for staff, assist with the supervisor in the electric Shop. Works scheduled overtime and responds to Unplanned/After-Hours Service calls, Campus Emergencies, and calls to report to work during inclement weather.

Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

  • 10 or more years of experience

  • At least two (2) years of leadership experience

  • Valid Driver's License

  • NICET Level II or ability to attain within 6 months

  • Journeyman Electrician according to ACA 17-28-304

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master Level certifications

  • NICET Level III

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of principles, practices, methods, and safety precautions in one or more of the skilled trades

  • Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and code relating to one or more of the skilled trades.

  • Knowledge of management and supervisory principles and techniques - including hiring, performance management and project management

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, schematics, building plans, and/or work drawings

  • Ability to supervise skilled trades workers and/or supervisors.

  • Ability to plan and coordinate all phases of work projects in one or more of the skilled trades

  • Skill in the use and care of tools and machinery used in one or more of the skilled trades.

  • Advanced use of a CMMS/Work Order Management system, mobile technology

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs e.g., Email and spreadsheets

Salary Information:

Minimum Salary Range: $61,735 - $69,452; Commensurate with education and experience
