About the College/Unit/Department |
UGA Online is the University of Georgia's online program and course development and marketing unit. Our mission is to:
- Partner with academic units to identify, develop, launch, and market high-quality graduate programs that align with UGA's academic strengths, meet workforce needs, and fit in areas of market demand.
- Support online student recruitment and retention efforts with student communications and services, as well as data-driven advertising.
- Partner with academic departments and faculty to create online summer undergraduate courses that help undergraduates graduate in four years or less.
- Generally, promote quality and innovation in online learning university-wide.
We have four teams to accomplish this mission: Instructional Design, Marketing, the Media Cooperative shared with the Center for Teaching and Learning, and Student Services and State Authorization. |

Position Summary |
The
Project Manager will oversee and coordinate the development, implementation, and maintenance of high-quality online master's programs. This new role will be instrumental in ensuring efficient collaboration between our office and academic colleges, schools, departments, and programs. The Project Manager will help streamline workflows, improve adherence to timelines, and enhance communication across teams to increase our production capacity. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
Knowledge:
Project Management Methodologies - Understanding of waterfall, rapid prototyping, and other project management approaches. Higher Education Environment - Familiarity with faculty collaboration, academic program development, and institutional goals. Online Learning Development - Knowledge of instructional design principles and online program workflows. Technology & Tools - Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello), collaboration tools (Slack, Google Drive), and CRM systems (HubSpot). Process Improvement - Understanding of best practices in workflow optimization, project tracking, and reporting.
Skills:
Project Planning & Coordination - Ability to develop and execute structured project plans. Time Management & Organization - Strong ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively. Communication & Facilitation - Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage stakeholders and lead meetings. - Evaluate the level of project management required to support existing processes and adapt project management methodologies (including rapid prototyping and waterfall approaches) based on project phases and needs.
- Develop and implement structured project plans for the launch and maintenance of online master's programs.
- Assist internal teams and faculty partners, ensuring that project timelines and deliverables align with institutional goals.
