Location: Rye, NY (Onsite - 5 days/week)

About the Role

Our client, an innovative and mission-driven organization in the healthcare sector, is seeking a highly capable Assistant Controller to join their dynamic finance team. Based onsite in Rye, NY, this critical role offers the opportunity to drive key financial processes while working closely with executive leadership. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, takes pride in producing clean, audit-ready financials, and brings a continuous improvement mindset. Prior experience in the healthcare industry is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and execute monthly financial close and multi-entity consolidations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency across reporting

  • Lead audit preparation efforts, including compiling supporting documentation, maintaining GAAP compliance, and serving as a liaison to external auditors

  • Manage foreign currency accounting and reconciliations, contributing to the integrity of international financial reporting

  • Partner with leadership on process improvements and ERP implementation planning, with a focus on preparing for a NetSuite rollout

  • Support senior finance leaders with internal reporting, cross-functional communication, and ongoing refinement of financial operations

Requirements Must-Haves
  • Demonstrated success in managing multi-entity consolidations and month-end close cycles

  • Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP and hands-on experience with external audit prep

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with large, complex data sets

  • Meticulous attention to detail, a strong sense of accountability, and a commitment to delivering accurate, actionable insights

  • Willingness and ability to work fully onsite in Rye, NY

Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA designation

  • Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred

  • Exposure to foreign exchange (FX) accounting

  • Involvement in ERP system implementations, ideally NetSuite

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
