Cornerstones of Care is a mental and behavioral health nonprofit certified in trauma-informed care that provides evidence-based prevention, intervention, treatment, and support services to help children and families improve their safety and health by making positive changes in their lives. Each year, our team empowers children and families in Kansas, Missouri, and beyond through three key service areas:



  • Youth & Family Support - We help youth gain independence through social and living support programs while empowering families with the skills and resources they need to become resilient and successful.
  • Foster Care & Adoption - We reunify and unite families while recruiting and providing support to foster parents and youth in foster care.
  • Education & Community Trainings - We help students achieve academic success while giving educators the tools to create safe learning environments to improve their students' behaviors and offer innovative learning opportunities to build and improve knowledge in the community.


We are seeking a Benefits & Leave Specialist to join our team. Your role as the Benefits & Leave Specialist will involve carrying out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: benefits administration, workers' compensation administration, reporting, leave administration, training, affirmative action, and employment equity programs. Serve as the subject matter expert for the Agency's benefits and leave programs. Performs exemplary customer service and assistance to team members, leadership, and the PX Team.

As a member of the People Experience team, you will work with other team members and report to our People Experience Manager of Compliance..

WHAT YOU WILL DO:




  • Acts as primary contact for team member benefits questions





  • Acts as liaison for benefits brokers and team members





  • Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, set up invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.





  • Administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.).





  • Ensures that the workers' compensation program is managed in accordance with applicable OSHA and workers' compensation laws.





  • Provides case management and coordinates administrative aspects of the cases and claims.




WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

Our ideal candidate will need ....

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Other minimum requirements: Junior college/two-year college training, HS Diploma

Certification: SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred; Completion of specialized certification or training on FMLA/leave administration a plus

Years of Experience: 2 to 5 years of related experience

In addition to the above requirements, the incumbent must:




  • Complete Sanctuary training in a timely manner;





  • Have a valid driver's license and proof of current vehicle insurance;





  • Follow all agency policies;





  • Be able to pass State Abuse, Neglect and criminal background checks;





  • Be able to carry out the essential functions of the position with, or without, accommodation.





  • Perform all job duties in a manner which demonstrates a commitment to Sanctuary values and practices.





  • Demonstrate awareness and understanding of cultural and ethnic diversity of clients, staff and other community partners.





  • Other duties as assigned.




Starting Salary: $52,000 - 58,000 $ (Annually)
