- In this role, you will proactively create a safe & sustainable workplace, promoting good working practices for employees and support Health, Safety and Environmental activities at the LTC
- Conduct site surveys to assure compliance with Corporate Health and Safety policies, programs, procedures and guidelines, and proper work practices needed to maintain a safe and healthful operation and work site
- Assess risks and identify hazards in the workplace to create a safe and healthy environment
- Provide SH&E inspections as required
- Provide SH&E training periodically as needed including NESO, LOTO, PTW, CSE etc.
- Development and review of proactive safety and health programs
- Provide work process review and signature approval for safe execution of hazardous work (for example management of the confined space entry process)
- Respond to site incidents including occupational injuries, environmental, medical, security, building and process related alarms
- Develop and implement response actions for site operations based on injury, incident, and near miss trends
- Support site activities participating in PSSR's, PHA's, MOC's, and design safety reviews
- Conduct Safety Meetings on topics designed to promote on going Safety, Health & Environmental awareness on and off the job
- Ensure proper case management and reporting for all injuries
- Provide off hours support to the site as needed
- Interface with Linde Corporate SHE and LEA and R&D on SHE related issues
- Provide support for Site occupants and contractors including site orientations and work permitting
- Participate in site Green Team, site Safety Team, and E-Team Volunteers
- Ensure steps are taken to protect the environment from operations at the LTC
- Organize, identify, and complete sit emergency drills
What makes you great
- BS degree preferred; or 3 years of relevant SHE experience in industrial businesses
- Demonstrated proficiency in all areas of safety, health, and environmental
- Experience conducting site surveys, risk assessments, incident response, and training programs
- Proficiency in incident reporting, case management, and root cause analysis (RCA) following injuries or near misses
- Knowledge of emergency preparedness and response protocols, including organization of emergency drills
- Experience dealing and reporting directly with regulatory agencies preferred.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) a plus
- Strong leadership, presentation, and communication skills to conduct training, Safety Meetings, and ensure compliance across diverse teams, including contractors
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization, be customer focused, set positive examples
- This position performs field and job-related safety, health and environmental inspections/audits that require traversing uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, climbing stairs, and moderate lifting up to 45 pounds
