CNA/PCA (7.5 hours per week) #3247

Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center is looking for a PCA/CNA to join them!

Hours: Every other weekend and holiday!

Position Summary:

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct nursing care and delivers assigned delegated aspects of care for tenants. The PCA adjusts tenant care to facilitate good communication with family, tenants and other healthcare team members to best meet and encourage expression of needs from all involved in tenant's care. The PCA organizes the aspects of care which he/she is accountable for to the best of their ability and supports the charge nurse to efficiently take care of tenant's needs.

Education and Training Required:

State/Federal registry of CNAs.
CPR certification is desired.
Meets health requirements.
Successful completion of Medication Administration Class.

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to work in a long term care environment with appropriate technological support.
Must be able to deal with multiple priorities in a calm manner.
Requires decision-making, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Recognizes legal responsibilities and functions as specified by Nurse Practice Act.

Potential Hazards:
Occasional exposure to infectious blood/body fluids and diseases requiring infection control practices.
Occasional exposure to needles, syringes/sharps during medication administration, assistance with treatments, invasive procedures.
May handle hazardous drugs.
