Responsibilities

MV Transportation is seeking a Floater Dispatcher/Road Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of route management, ensuring compliance with both client and company procedures. This role requires flexibility, as the individual will be responsible for covering either the Dispatcher or Road Supervisor duties as needed to ensure the smooth running of operations and maintain compliance with client requirements. The Floater Dispatcher/Road Supervisor will maintain daily communication with drivers and clients, organize and coordinate activities to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time performance. The position involves tracking and reporting sign-in/sign-out times, monitoring service quality, and addressing any issues or incidents as they arise.

Dispatcher Responsibilities:

    Answer radio and phone calls to communicate issues with drivers, road supervisors, maintenance, passengers, client, BOC and MV management as needed.
  • Monitor and assess system performance daily using Swiftly and ATMS systems.
  • Support positive employee morale and deliver quality customer service.
  • Manage daily sign-in and sign-out for drivers.
  • Assign trips to drivers and ensure fair distribution of routes.
  • Accurate record keeping of dispatch log, service interruption log and other logs.
  • Report any delays or late starts to Road Supervisors or Operations Managers.
  • Fill vacant shifts as needed to maintain service levels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Road Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site checks and road observations according to client and local policies, documenting and reporting findings.
  • Ensure wheelchair securement and vehicle cleanliness for in-service vehicles.
  • Monitor street operations to maintain on-time performance and route adherence.
  • Provide customer information at key locations.
  • Respond to accidents and incidents, managing the situation and assisting with post-accident procedures, including drug and alcohol testing.
  • Fill vacant shifts as needed to maintain service levels.
  • Conduct gate checks to ensure timely service and proper paperwork completion.
  • Identify potential rerouting needs due to traffic, construction, or accidents.
  • Ensure operators meet duty fitness standards, including uniform, equipment, and certifications.
  • Assist with service or passenger-related issues and coordinate with dispatch and maintenance for vehicle changeouts.
  • Provide safety and operational feedback to improve daily operations.
  • Document all field observations and maintain accurate records


Qualifications

Talent Requirements:

  • One (1) year of previous Dispatcher experience preferred.
  • Two (2) years of Customer Service experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Field supervision or training experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in passenger transportation is preferred.
  • Proficiency in office software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to customer service with a professional phone manner.
  • Knowledge of the service area is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain a CDL Class B License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements (Paid Training).
  • Excellent safety and service record.
  • Familiarity with the service area and project requirements.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulations and safety programs.
  • Ability to manage emergency situations effectively.
  • Effective communication skills to work across departments.
  • Ability to work independently and objectively.

This position requires an adaptable individual capable of switching between roles as needed, ensuring all operations remain compliant with client requirements and company standards.

Starting pay rate: $24.00/hour
