Responsibilities

Arcfield is expanding to support the DoD Space Development Agency (SDA) and is seeking a mid-level Systems Engineer with a focus on Configuration Management (CM). SDA aims to revolutionize support to the warfighter by focusing on "good-enough" capabilities, risk-taking, and employing novel business models. SDA's motto is "always faster" (Semper Citius) - providing an exciting, dynamic environment for systems engineering.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Establish and maintain configuration management policies and procedures
  • Track and monitor customer Requests for Change (RFCs) from the concept phase all the way to updating the CM baseline
  • Review RFC documentation to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer
  • Maintain the customer's CM repository and ensure that baseline data repositories are access controlled and locked down to ensure data integrity
  • Monitor the RFC process for comments and RFC adjudications
  • Collaborate across functions with requirements engineers, schedulers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure baseline artifacts are managed and changes are coordinated with the larger enterprise
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to the customer regarding the creation and implementation of new CM methods and techniques
  • Support the adoption of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes and architectures

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must possess and be able to maintain an active Top Secret / SCI Clearancewith Polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in engineering related field with 5-7 years of experience, or 3-5 years of experience with a Master's degree in engineering related field, or 0-2 years of experience years with Ph.D. in Engineering related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with technical and non-technical audiences and produce clear, logical, and concise products
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under only general direction and to independently provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
  • The ability to travel as necessary to satisfy assigned tasks
  • Flexibility to execute additional duties as assigned

Desired:

  • Advanced degrees or certifications in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
  • Experience providing systems engineering and acquisition support to space systems (to include ground architectures)
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) / Digital Engineering
  • Experience with managing baselines using tools such as Sharepoint
  • Experience working with the Federal Government/DoD
