Location: This position will be on-site full-time in Chicopee, MA. The position holder will need to be within commuting distance (within 45 min).

Associate Project Engineer Summary:

The Associate Project Engineer performs the activities associated with assisting the Advanced Engineering team with the development and integration of medical products. Works with the design, testing and transition activities necessary to bring products from concept through transfer to manufacturing, while ensuring that products meet customer requirements and are able to be manufactured profitably.

Associate Project Engineer Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interacts with internal and external personnel including engineering, sales, manufacturing, and customer service as well as vendors to successfully complete assigned tasks and projects.
  • Works with a team, directly with the customer to define the problem they are trying to solve, develops product specifications and manages development through the rapid prototype, design approval and transfer of products into production.
  • Participates in face-to-face meetings with customers defining product specification and providing updates on new product development projects.
  • Provides hands-on design support utilizing design tools like SolidWorks, CAD, and statistical tools to develop new products to meet customer requirements.
  • Set up and perform sample runs for new product approvals.
  • Tests materials and designs through screening testing or to demonstrate basic functionality.
  • Works closely with manufacturing & automation engineering, quality, production, and other internal resources to ensure that customer and business objectives are achieved.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
Associate Project Engineer Qualification Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 2 years or less of experience in design or applications engineering (excluding internships).
  • Medical device environment experience desired.
  • Hands-on experience in the use of CAD tools required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent team skills.
