Position Summary:

The clinical intern willassist licensed professionals in the clinical setting by directly observing patients, gathering data, conducting assessments under supervision, and participating in treatment planning, all while gaining practical experience in their chosen clinical field, under the guidance of a supervising clinician.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Patient interaction: Conducting intake interviews, gathering patient histories, and performing basic assessments under supervision.

  • Treatment planning: Contributing to the development of treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical evaluation.

  • Observation and documentation: Observing therapy sessions, documenting patient progress, and maintaining accurate clinical records.

  • Data collection: Gathering data through standardized tests, surveys, or other methods as needed for research or clinical purposes.

  • Case management: Assisting with case management tasks like scheduling appointments, coordinating with other healthcare providers, and following up with patients.

  • Research support: Participating in research projects by collecting data, analyzing results, and preparing research reports.

  • Ethical considerations: Adhering to ethical guidelines and professional standards in clinical practice.

  • Supervised practice: Clinical interns always work under the close supervision of a licensed professional who provides guidance and feedback.

Requirements:



  • Knowledge + Skills: A clinical intern should possess a range of knowledge and skills includingstrong communication abilities, critical thinking, patient assessment, clinical interviewing techniques, the ability to work independently, time management, proper documentation, and a commitment to continuous learning, all while adapting to different patient situations and collaborating with healthcare teams.

  • Education: HS Diploma or GED required; Must be currently enrolled in a degree program related to healthcare

  • Software/Hardware: Experience with Word, Excel, Power Point, OneNote, Outlook preferred
