Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Performs Radiography/Imaging services, ancillary testing, and collects specimens. Coordinates patient visits for Imaging services. Maintains a neat and orderly work area. Works in collaboration with the nursing team in obtaining patient vital signs, rooming patients, preparing exam rooms, etc. Communicates with ancillary staff in an effective and professional manner. Other duties may be applicable.

Responsibilities
- 1. Coordinates patient visits to minimize the patient's wait time.
- 2. Collects specimen, blood, urine and cultures.
- 2.1 Explains protocols and answers patients questions regarding specimen collection on a professional manner as observed by supervisor and as evidenced by feedback from patients and staff.
- 3. Prepares and transports specimens for processing.
- 3.1 Labels specimen correctly including time and initials as indicated by feedback from staff and observed by supervisor.
- 4. Maintains departmental records and supplies.
- 4.1 Insures that all activity documentation logs (temperature, decontamination, eyewash, etc.) are complete and current as observedby Supervisor review.
- 5. Plans and/or implements care for assigned patients. Records vital signs and transcribes patient's stated chief complaints
- 5.1 Demonstrates knowledge of developmental stages from adolescent to old age and applies developmental theories/concepts when planning and implementing care for the adult patient as observed by supervisor and as indicated by feedback from staff.
- 6. Participates in additional activities that are necessary to satisfy Center's needs and requirements.
- 6.1 Assists in implementing changes in existing procedures as designated by departmental needs as indicated by feedback and observed by supervisor.
- 7. Performs Diagnostic Radiographic procedures for Outpatients.
- 7.1 Performs Radiographs in a prompt professional manner according to established procedures as observed by Supervisor review.
Qualifications
EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent plus ARRT State of CT licensure. EXPERIENCE Imaging Services experience essential. LICENSURE ARRT State of CT. Licensure required. CPR preferred. SPECIAL SKILLS Exceptional interpersonal skills. Knowledge required of general Imaging terms and practices. PHYSICAL DEMAND While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
