Job Title: Machinist
Contract: 11 Months
Pay Rate: $35.00/hr.
Work Schedule : This person will work Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. We only have one shift that is during the day.

Job Description:
As a Machinist - a, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining advanced machining equipment to produce high-quality aerospace parts and components.
You will work closely with the engineering and production teams to ensure that all machining tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
This role requires a high level of expertise and experience in aerospace machining operations, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

Responsibilities:
* Set up and operate various types of machining equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, CNC machines, brand saw, and drill press.
* Inspect finished aerospace parts to ensure they meet stringent quality standards and specifications.
* Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while operating machinery.
* Follow written work instructions, able to understand assembly blueprints, tooling blueprints and build procedures.
* Identify and resolve issues with processes that can lead to continue improvements.
* Work closely with engineers and other team members to optimize machining processes and improve productivity.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machining processes and reduce waste.
* Provide training and mentorship to junior machinists and other team members.
* Ability to manufacture tools, fixtures and parts from a blueprint.

Qualifications:
Required Competencies:
* Highschool diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
* Minimum 5 years of experience operating advanced machining equipment.
* Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
* Advanced mechanical aptitude
* Basic computer skills
* Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing techniques
* Competence and expertise in machine safety and guarding.
* Proficiency in operating various types of advanced machining equipment.
* Strong attention to detail and quality control.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and procedures.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
* This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. "Green Card Holder"), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with advanced aerospace machining techniques and technologies.
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
* Experience in a leadership or mentorship role.
