Under the general supervision of the Sr. Product Manager, the Digital Product Owner is responsible for the execution of the product vision and roadmap, ensuring successful delivery of a high-quality product that meets customer needs and business goals. The incumbent works closely with stakeholders across the organization, including business teams, technical teams, and marketing teams, to define and prioritize product features and user stories and to deliver fully elicited business requirements that improve customer experience and drive innovation. The Digital Product Owner ensures the team is delivering the highest value features and stories first, knowing the needs of the business, and coordinates with the development team to ensure features meet the acceptance criteria and are delivered as expected. The incumbent contributes to a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation within their team, driving the organization towards achieving its strategic business objectives. - With guidance and supervision from the Sr. Product Manager, the Product Owner will work collaboratively with their manager, their peers and the broader product team to execute the product vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
- Conduct thorough analysis and prioritization of feedback from users and stakeholders to identify key improvements and adjust the product backlog.
- Define and prioritize the product backlog, making final decisions on product functionality based on business value and customer needs.
- Create and refine user stories and acceptance criteria that clearly communicate customer and stakeholder needs to the delivery team.
- Under the general supervision of their manager, engage with stakeholders at all levels to ensure their support and alignment with the product direction and functionality.
- Assess business value and prioritize user stories to focus on high-value work that aligns with strategic goals.
- Lead collaboration with stakeholders to communicate the product vision and roadmap, gather feedback, and maintain strong working relationships.
- Attend and actively participate in team ceremonies (e.g., Daily Stand-up, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review).
- Stay at the forefront of market trends, technology advancements, and industry best practices in product management.
- Manage and support inter-team dependencies, proactively resolving issues to ensure smooth collaboration and delivery.
- Work with manager to develop the analytical capabilities necessary to interpret market research and competitive analysis and ensure the product evolves in a way that is consistent with what the data indicates.
Education
- Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or Information Systems or relevant fields.
- Preferred
- Master's Degree
- Product Owner or Product Manager Certification a plus
Knowledge and Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role in digital product management with experience in launching and managing successful products
- Thorough understanding of key operational and customer facing business processes in the areas impacted by product operations
- Moderate understanding of product development and launch processes, including agile methodologies
- Knowledge of production innovation methodologies and leading practices
- Ability to think strategically, design requirements in alignment with the business vision and product roadmap, and apply market trends
- Experience with hardware or software product development
- Knowledge of user experience (UX) design principles and customer-centric design thinking
- Knowledge of business processes, including IT, vendor management, and software development lifecycle
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical solutions into business language
- Ability to facilititate solution optioning with the development team
- Demonstrated predictable value delivery to customers and stakeholders
