University Development's purpose is to support the mission of the university by raising private resources to enhance financial support for students, faculty, programs, and facilities. University Development provides leadership and centralized services to all development offices throughout the University, serving as a focal point for annual giving, application development and IT support; campaign management; constituent programs; corporate and foundation relations; donor relations; gift planning; gift services; industry relations; marketing/communications; parents giving; principal gifts; prospect management, research and analytics; regional programs; scholarships and student aid; talent management; university events; and volunteer engagement.

Position Summary |
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy.
UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
The Gift Planning Administrative Specialist provides comprehensive professional support to the Executive Director of Gift Planning, the Senior Director and the Gift Planning Office. The duties include project management and support; calendar, travel support for all fundraisers, and email support; event/meeting planning; and office management. The position will perform an extensive range of highly visible activities such as communication with various university and external constituents at multiple levels. This position will also be responsible for all University charitable
IRA rollover receipting.
The Gift Planning Administrative Specialist is responsible for independent problem solving, answering questions, providing information and taking action on behalf of the Executive Director and others as authorized. This position must analyze, prioritize, and keep track of multiple pieces of complex and confidential information in order to make accurate and efficient recommendations regarding workflow and provide facilitation and processing of information and verbal and written correspondence. The individual must facilitate completion of work at a rapid pace on time-sensitive matters with routine interruptions. All the above must be done with minimal errors and utmost professionalism. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a high pace, complex environment. Understanding of awareness of program services, policies, office protocols, and professional practices. Professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize work amidst multiple demands and deadlines. Must be flexible, collaborative, yet able to work with a high degree of independence. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Experience in a higher education and administrative environment is preferred. |
