POSITION SPECIFICS The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University in University Park, PA is seeking an Assistant Research Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct experimental research in glass science and engineering, including glass composition design, physical property characterization, and chemical corrosion studies. The applicant must have a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering or a related field. The applicant should preferably have post-doctoral research experience beyond Ph.D. training. Experience with developing new glass compositions with low melting temperatures, high damage resistance, and high corrosion resistance are also preferred. The successful candidate must also demonstrate a strong commitment to laboratory safety and mentorship of undergraduate and graduate students.
