Lathrop GPM, one of the nation's leading law firms, has an immediate opening for a Litigation Case Assistant in our San Jose, CA office.

Lathrop GPM is a full-service, Am Law 200 law firm with offices in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Overland Park, St. Cloud, St. Louis, San Jose, Redwood Shores and Washington, D.C. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, and a professional, challenging, yet comfortable hybrid working environment, three days in office/two days remote (home office).

The case assistant supports paralegals and attorneys throughout the litigation process. This position maintains discovery, updates hearing materials, and assists with deposition preparation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Maintain documents produced during discovery in physical or electronic form.

* Upload and maintain discovery documents on eDiscovery platforms including Everlaw and Relativity.

* Perform issue tagging within eDiscovery platforms as directed by paralegals or attorneys.

* Analyze and summarize discovery documents and depositions.

* Display exhibits during Zoom depositions.

* Prepare materials for depositions, trials, and other motion hearings.

* Use legal databases such as Westlaw to locate statutes, case law, and public records information regarding opposing party.

* Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Requirements

* Four-year college degree preferred.

* Intermediate technical knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

* Willingness to learn new software applications as required.

* Excellent written and communications skills with attention to detail.

* Organized, self-motivated professional.

* Ability to accurately interpret and understand basic legal documents.

* Ability to effectively prioritize and successfully execute and complete tasks in a high-pressure environment.

* Ability to work in an environment of confidential data and keep information confidential and private.

* Creative in finding solutions using existing technology to meet user demands.

* Must be a team player and possess the ability to work effectively and efficiently in high pressure, time sensitive situations.

* Willingness to work in the office environment for at least 3 days each week and as needed to meet client needs.

Current anticipated salary range for applicants as required by applicable state laws is $55,000 - $68,000 depending on experience. Actual salary will vary and may be above or below the range. Full comprehensive benefit plan including health care, retirement plan and paid days off, including PTO, parental leave, and short/long term disability.
