School for Social Work Job Description

Essential Functions:

40%: Manage the annual recruitment plan in service of the goals of the School and admission, working closely in consultation with the Director and admission team, including scheduled email messaging to engage prospective students, a calendar of live and virtual events, event-related communications, and details of SSW representation at scheduled events. This may include targeted outreach and event management in Slate, as well as sending printed materials, coordinating staffing, and other details.

15%: Support logistics for recruitment events (fairs, conferences, virtual events, recruitment events) including registration, campus space reservation, advertisement, arranging representation, payment, material preparation, post-event follow up, and summary reporting in consultation with the Senior Assistant Director. The incumbent will list and format recruitment events and planned travel in Slate, and develop and maintain protocols and procedures for this purpose.

15%: The AD will represent SSW at events locally, virtually, and on the road with 3-5 weeks of travel required per year, including occasional evening and weekend work. The AD must be able to self-manage travel schedule and arrangements, and be prepared to represent the SSW professionally to reflect its caliber, professionalism, and commitment to clinical social work. The AD must be able to articulate critical details of the program and respond to questions, and create relationships with prospective students and act as a resource.

15%: Develop expertise and utilize Slate to implement an annual communication plan, including outreach to prospective students in recruitment areas, event announcements, event registration, reminders, etc. Coordinate email and text outreach. Coordinate importing outside organization data into Slate for use in outreach.

10%: The AD will act as the admissions counselor and point of contact for a select portfolio of active applicants, guiding them through the application and enrollment process from inquiry to yield. Provide ongoing stewardship for prospective students and applicants through phone support, correspondence, and other various points of contact. Brainstorm new yield possibilities.

5%: Assist in marketing plan in collaboration with the Director and meet regularly with the Communications team to support the development of recruitment materials, ads, and digital content, ensuring alignment with program values and priorities.

Support the student ambassador search and hiring process alongside the Senior Assistant Director.

Represent the School's five core principles in all external-facing interactions, ensuring that recruitment efforts reflect the institution's mission and values.

Maintain knowledge of pertinent developments at the SSW and in the field of social work and graduate admission work. Maintain a strong understanding of current trends in graduate education, social work licensing, and enrollment strategy, participating in team decisions around adapting recruitment practices to remain competitive and relevant.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

3 years of experience in a related field

Reliable transportation is required for this position.

Skills

Must be detail oriented, a strong writer, and be able to articulate the value of graduate education. Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills, with enthusiasm about graduate admission work, willingness to learn about the profession of social work, and a strong professional and personal alignment with SSW's Five Core Principles. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills and an ability to problem solve and work independently. Experience in Slate a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of experience/education is preferred
