The Alaka'ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a qualified Field Electronic Engineer to provide support services at our government customer in Kauai, Hawai'i.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific Field Electronic Engineer duties include:
Responsible for the continuous surveillance, monitoring, and operation of all auxiliary machinery systems and associated equipment within the Reconstitutable Deckhouse (RDH), Deckhouse Support Building (DHSB), and Launch Facility (LF).

  • Requires a commitment to safety, and strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, 24/7 operational environment, and participate in training and development activities to maintain and enhance technical skills.
  • Requires to investigate auxiliary system status at the physical locations of the systems within the site location.
  • May be required to act as security escort and interface with other organizations performing maintenance actions within AAMDTC facilities.
  • Requires to monitor and/or operate systems, report and record any change in configuration or equipment functionality to:
    - Fire extinguishing equipment
    - Power generation and distribution systems HVAC systems
    - Low Pressure air compression/drying systems Static frequency converters
    - Universal Control Console (UCC)
    - Power Control and Management System (PCMS) Building
    - Automation Systems
  • Requires periodic safety and security rounds as directed. Personnel will observe, take, and record equipment readouts, usage, and utilities consumption as required.
  • Ability to coordinate maintenance activities and manage overall operations and support for mechanical and electrical systems, operate and monitor, and perform emergency/casualty response for all auxiliary machinery equipment to include:
    - Power generation and distribution system
    - HVAC system
    - Low pressure air compressor and drying system
    - Fire suppression system
    - Machinery Controls
  • Operate a motor vehicle with a valid Hawaii Driver's license.
  • Requires periodic safety and security rounds as directed. Personnel will observe, take, and record equipment readouts, usage, and utilities consumption as required.
  • Safeguarding classified documents and equipment; controlling access to restricted areas; adhering to all security protocols for handling classified information; and reporting any potential security breaches. Additional security responsibilities may be assigned as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Security+ and Linux+ certifications, UCC patching and STIG applications.
  • valid Hawaii Driver's license

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development. The employee will be responsible for maintaining required individual training and certifications on essential tasks as dictated by the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and Kupono Government Services to ensure proficiency and compliance
  • The ability to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24-hour operational coverage.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
* Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
* Ability to work in confined spaces.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Calendar, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to troubleshoot basic computer issues.
  • Also, must be able to operate and maintain standard office equipment, including printers, scanners, and copiers.
  • Experience in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and communication equipment malfunctions.
  • Work effectively as part of a two-person team on rotating shifts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
