We are currently looking for a full-time Slitter Operator to support our Elgin plant.

Shift and schedule: 12-hour shift, 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM. Monday through Thursday. Must be willing to work Fridays.

Compensation:

The compensation and reference to benefits for this role is listed on this posting in compliance with applicable law. The selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on experience, and qualifications. Please note that the compensation and benefits listed below are only applicable to successful candidates who are hired onto local United States payroll.

The anticipated salary range for this position is: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour, DOE.

When your actions lead to success:

• 
  

  Operate slitter in a safe and efficient way; trouble-shoot and correct problems.

  
  

• 
  

  Splice rolls in such a way that no blocking on the under-layer occurs.

  
  

• 
  

  Lift off rewind shafts from slitter; re-thread the shafts.

  
  

• 
  

  Maintain proper level of oxydry power in reservoir.

  
  

• 
  

  Maintain slitter and work area in a clean condition.

  
  

• 
  

  Responsible for all In Process Inspection, communicating any possible defects to downstream processes.

  
  

• 
  

  Communicating issues to other Departments via Roll Tags, Comments in digital format, Signage on Rolls.

  
  

• 
  

  Complete required paperwork in written English neatly and accurately; make sure that all written instructions on order sheet, and other instructions, are followed.

  
  

• 
  

  Responsible for Quality of all products, and communication associated with their rolls.

  
  

When your expertise drives us:

  Proficiency in operating heavy cutting and sawing equipment, and knowledge of safety instructions and procedures for such equipment.

  
  

• 
  

  Basic mechanical aptitude.

  
  

• 
  

  Ability to mechanically and manually lift heavy loads in a safe way.

  
  

• 
  

  Good communication skills in the English language (reading, writing, listening and speaking)
