Statement of Purpose

The Director of Organizational Strategy and Program Innovation will lead NSITE's effort to deliver cutting-edge, mission-aligned programmatic solutions that empower individuals who are blind or low vision to achieve upward career mobility. This strategic role is responsible for driving innovation in curriculum and user experience, expanding NSITE's educational footprint, and growing revenue through high-impact, scalable learning solutions. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in instructional design, workforce development, strategic partnerships, and program operations.



Responsibility for Work of Others

None directly. May manage a growing team of program specialists, instructional designers, learning managers, and contractors. They will also oversee contracted facilitator/faculty's work.

Education

Master's degree in Curriculum Design, Education Technology, Workforce Development, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.


Training and Specialized Knowledge

  • Demonstrated success in scaling learning portfolios and growing training-related revenue.
  • Deep expertise in instructional design, online learning, and adult education principles.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing external partnerships.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms, accessibility standards, and user experience best practices.
  • Strong analytical, budgeting, and project management skills.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in learning and development, including nonprofit or mission-driven sectors.
  • Experience working with disability communities, particularly blind or low vision individuals.
  • Background in workforce development, public-private partnerships, or career coaching/counseling environments.
  • Knowledge of government funding structures, federal contracts, or vocational rehabilitation systems.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Program Leadership



  • Set the vision and strategic direction for NSITE's programs and digital training assets.
  • Expand workforce development and employer recruitment services.
  • Support NIB's internal training initiatives by working closely with human resources and other departments within the organization.


Revenue Growth & Program Expansion



  • Develop and execute plans to expand the earned income through fee-for-service training models and licensing opportunities.
  • Establish and manage scalable learning pipelines in partnership with employers, workforce boards, and credentialing bodies.
  • Lead pricing, packaging, and market positioning strategies for education products.
  • Develop and implement scalable, market-responsive products and services.


Innovation & Learning Technology



  • Lead user-centered design improvements across NSITE's learning platforms and resources.
  • Oversee the integration and expansion of the LMS, digital job board, and career resource ecosystem.
  • Expand NSITE's job board and digital career resources based on her success in similar systems.
  • Evaluate and introduce modern technologies and platforms to enhance learner experience and operational efficiency.


Customer and Stakeholder Engagement



  • Lead efforts to strengthen customer service to the blind and visually impaired community, NIB's associated agencies, state and federal agencies, and other service providers.


  • Expand efforts to support NIB's associated agencies with workforce training needs, staff development, and talent recruitment.


Partnership Development



  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with industry, nonprofits, educational institutions, and government agencies to co-create impactful programs.
  • Advance opportunities for programmatic partnerships with NIB's associated agencies to expand and scale NSITE's workforce initiatives.
  • Represent NSITE externally at key events, conferences, and working groups related to workforce development and accessibility.


Team Leadership & Operations



  • Manage a growing team of program specialists, instructional designers, learning managers, and contractors.
  • Drive performance management and staff development aligned with NSITE's mission and core principles.
  • Oversee budget planning, forecasting, and reporting.



Measurement & Impact



  • Implement a system for continuous program improvement using learner analytics, ROI modeling, and industry benchmarks.
  • Lead regular needs assessments to guide program development and stakeholder engagement.
  • Implement data-informed decision-making through ongoing needs assessments and performance evaluations across all learning programs.
