Accountant Senior III

IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. seeks an Accountant Senior III in Westbrook, ME to apply the generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in financial planning, analysis, forecasting, budgeting, accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and other financial activities for IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. The primary duties and responsibilities of the Accountant Senior III include examining, analyzing, and interpreting accounting records to prepare financial statements, give advice, and evaluate financial statements; partnering with lines of business to provide accounting consulting, advice, and support, including financial data analytics, business tools, dashboards, and reports for timeline decision making; compiling and analyzing financial statements, information, and reports; developing revenue/expense and other financial analyses, reports, and presentations; preparing detailed reports on audit finds; reporting to management regarding audit results; preparing and recording journal entries for period-end close processes; preparing account reconciliations, preparing disclosures for SEC filings, comparing actual performance to latest financial outlook; preparing revenue and expense accruals, and reviewing accuracy of revenue, gross margin, and expense information; creating and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring that financial information is recorded and presented accurately; financial forecasting; developing budgets and financial projections for financial statements from revenues to operating margins and key balance sheet items; developing various analyses, reports and presentations; performing ad hoc financial forecasting, analysis and modeling and special project support as needed; participating in strategic planning and budget process, providing financial information, analysis, and support as needed; developing financial models for business initiatives such as product launches, geographical expansion, and proposed marketing programs; working with multiple systems for use in information retrieval and analyses; identifying and implementing processes and improvements in planning, analysis, reporting, and monitoring of both financial and non-financial measures; leveraging information technology to automate, streamline and integrate processes; monitoring internal control environment; identifying gaps in controls and supports development of approaches to mitigate exposure; and identifying trends and developments.

The minimum requirements for the position are a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Business Administration; four years of accounting experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, revenue accounting, or internal auditing; and proficiency in Microsoft Excel with ability to efficiently analyze large datasets, using advanced functions and data analysis tools including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data validation, complex formulas, charting, and automation, to extract and analyze, mine, and manipulate data. The position is based at IDEXX Laboratories' office in Westbrook, ME. Telecommuting from home is permitted. Requires in-office work 8 days per month at One IDEXX Drive, Westbrook, ME, 04092.
