Responsibilities

This hourly position is responsible for training CDL and light fleet drivers. Job openings available in a part-time or full-time capacity. Frequent coordination with Dispatch and Transporation Manager is required. Candidate must represent the company in a professional manner and conduct all work in accordance with the company's policies, procedures, and programs with a focus on safe driving techniques.

Responsibilities:

    Daily communication with dispatch manager on issues and training progress.
  • Conduct test drives to ensure Allan Myers has the best-in-class CDL Drivers.
  • Daily objective is training new hire, CDL Drivers. Responsible for refresher training as directed by Dispatch Manager and HSE Director.
  • Ability to coach drivers on scores generated by vehicle Netradyne camera system to help them achieve their goals and metrics.
  • Advocate for our Home Safe Tonight safety culture. Lead by example and ensure all PPE is worn and being used properly. Promote safety initiatives, including but not limited to improving driver safety scores through use of Netradyne system.
  • Expected to operate company vehicles as assigned when training opportunities are not available.
  • Assist the Shop with resolving equipment abuse issues.
  • Ability to manage and multi-task multiple projects at one time and in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ability to work under pressure, shift priorities in a changing environment, and self-direct with good business judgments.

Hourly Range:

  • $28.00 - $30.00, based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications:

    • A High School Diploma or its equivalent.
    • Valid; CDL license, DOT card, clearinghouse registration.
    • Experience in leadership or management is preferred.
    • Experience in a CDL training role is preferred.
    • Minimum of 7 years of successful and safe tri-axle dump truck driving experience.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and other software that may be used to document training.

    Necessary skills include the ability to:

    • Establish collaborative interactions and work professionally when addressing conflict.
    • Maintain strong interpersonal, communication and written skills.
    • Implement appropriate training strategies and techniques.
    • Perform and maintain accurate recordkeeping.
    • Maintain confidentiality about personnel information.
    • Model safe, effective and efficient operation of company vehicles.
    • Adapt and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to work overtime and have flexibility to accommodate the needs of the position.

    Physical Demands:

    • Requires the ability to sit, use hands/fingers, talk and hear. Occasionally requires the ability to stand, walk, reach climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. May occasionally require the ability to lift up to 50lbs. Requires the following specific types of vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Work Environment:

    • The work environment varies depending on assignment and includes the field, shop and/or office setting. May be subject to moderate noise levels due to equipment operations.
    • Schedule and vehicle assignment may change pending company and project needs.
    • Weekends may be required.

    Travel Requirements:

    • Frequent traveling to job/dispatch sites within the business unit's work areas
