The Business Systems Analyst will work with external and internal stakeholders to gather, document and recommend user requirements and specifications for existing and new applications for business processes. The BSA will configure user interfaces, perform SQL queries and diagram workflows for our existing in-house, low-code development framework. The incumbent will provide support and help maintain the relationships with our external clients and help ensure we meet their needs.

Essential Functions

  • Support the ongoing development of the company's various applications.
  • Serve as a conduit between end-users (internal and external) and IT personnel (development and testing) through which requirements flow.
  • Prioritize and schedule backlog, bug fixes and enhancements for implementation and coordinate same with product management, development and testing teams.
  • Use existing in-house, low-code development framework to design and develop standard elements to meet requirements. This will include configuration of user interface screens, SQL queries and workflow modules.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Design and demonstrate new user interfaces in accordance with business needs.
  • Analyze, understand and map business process flows.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs and then collaborate with developers and SME on enhancements to the system.
  • Maintain entry and status of issues and enhancements in DevOps.
  • Provide and/or coordinate training and support for end users.
  • Assist with documentation of IT projects and reporting to management.
  • Perform related duties as requested.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to accurately convey messages and influence others.
  • An understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into an application.
  • Working knowledge of the mortgage loan origination, servicing, and default processes is a plus
  • An understanding of SQL Server Reporting Services, Strategy and other BI systems.
  • An understanding of relational databases.
  • An understanding of SQL structured query language in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Awareness of web application functionality and modern web user interfaces.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) phases & methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of software testing methodologies including requirements traceability, defect management, defect analysis, injection/detection analysis, defect remediation, etc.
  • Ability to effectively write and present business correspondence, reports, and technical manuals.
  • Commitment and ability to cultivate a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Education

  • Bachelor's in Information Technology, Computer Science or Business is preferred; the equivalent amount of relevant experience will be considered in-lieu.

Experience

  • Three or more years of business analysis or product management experience, or a combination thereof, is required.
  • One or more years of SDLC experience.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a climate controlled indoor administrative office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, depending upon the office or meeting location.

Physical Demands and Activities

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to communicate. The employee frequently is required to remain stationary. The employee is frequently required to move about the office, operate a computer and other office machinery, such as calculator, copy machine, and computer printer; rarely position self to maintain files; rarely moves boxes weighing up to 10 lbs. Close and distance observation required with ability to observe objects at close range in presence of glare or bright lighting (e.g., computer screen). Must possess the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand and have the ability to interact with external and internal stakeholders.
