M1 is looking for an Aircraft Technician II Electronic - Avionics Back shop
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Conducts daily back shop Avionics Integrated Systems operations. Troubleshoots malfunctions in
aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Repairs, rebuilds and test aircraft avionics LRUs. Working
knowledge of all associated avionics systems including circuit analyses, calculating wave forms,
signal flow, high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and
complex computer control equipment. Reads and interprets manufacturers and aircraft's
maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications
to determine feasibility and method of repairing malfunctioning or damaged components. Receives
technical guidance from managers, supervisors, leads, and higher-level technicians as required.
May be required to obtain and maintain special certifications required by AFI as directed by
management. May be required to monitor and lead teams to perform more complex inspections
and repairs. May be required to aid writing/initiating engineering technical assistance requests.
Reviews and completes forms documentation pertinent to aircraft or equipment maintenance,
enters maintenance actions into applicable MIS system and will make entries in forms, logs,
records, or electronic equivalent as required. Complete all assignments and tasks as directed by
managers, supervisors, leads, and more senior technicians.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of 6 years performing as an Avionics back shop technician on USAF or sister service
fighter aircraft including 2 years' experience with RAMPOD / Eagle Eye and one or more of the
following: A-10, F-15, or F-16 back shop avionics test stations. Working knowledge of MIS
systems, forms documentation and strict adherence to aircraft technical data is required. All
Avionics personnel must be able to pass a color vision test.
Working Conditions:
High school diploma or GED is required. Mathematics skills are desirable
Must speak, read, write, and understand English with the ability to interpret technical data and
special operating instructions in the same language.
Must be willing to deploy to support off-station requirements.
Performs housekeeping duties within 100 feet of assigned work areas (excluding bathrooms).
Performs vehicle use inspections, cleaning, and wash.
Performs any other supportive duties as assigned.
Must be physically capable of performing all assigned duties.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (or higher, if required).
Must be able to, if required, obtain, and maintain a government driver's license. If controlled
movement area (CMA) access is required must be able to pass color vision test.
Environment ranges from office, hangar and flightline and requires extensive climbing, standing,
stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.
May be required to work in other work sections throughout the contract.
