Project Manager - California Remote

IEM is looking for a Full Time- Project Manager to work within our Disaster Recovery team. This position will be responsible for performing processing, monitoring, tracking and reporting activities within a compliance team with little or no direct supervision. The position entails maintaining an understanding of all applicable program policies, requirements, and procedures, and being able to work across multiple clients, stakeholders or applicants. The incumbent may be called upon to provide support and assistance to address issues and concerns outside areas of assignment.

Primary Location:



  • Live in California or near its boarder.
  • Work remotely from home or personal office location and in the field.


Travel Requirements:



  • This position will require travel to complete work assignments or attend meetings.


Essential Functions:



  • Lead and oversee compliance-related projects and processes.
  • Support staff, clients, homeowners, and contractors professionally.
  • Develop strategies to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Create and maintain project work plans, including schedules and deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary contact between stakeholders and program management.
  • Provide written and oral reports to program management and client representatives.
  • Develop monitoring tools to ensure compliance with program and contract administration.
  • Recommend policies and procedures to ensure program success and compliance.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to new assignments.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Degree: Bachelor or master degree in project management, finance, management, business administration, public administration, public policy, law, or a related field
  • Experience: Four (4) years of experience in project/program management and demonstrated experience with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, including record-keeping, scheduling, task tracking, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to teamwork and excellence.
  • Experience and Degree Substitution: Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and training that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills and abilities required, may be considered.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Knowledge of federally funded housing grant programs such as CDBG/CDBG-DR, FEMA HMGP, Treasury ARPA, and CARES Act grants.
  • Experience in providing technical assistance and staff training.
  • Familiarity with database and program management tools such as SmartSheets, Power BI, SharePoint, and other Microsoft Office Suite products.


Additional Information:



  • Remote Locations: All remote work environments require the ability to maintain minimum Internet speeds of 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download, as well as a ping rate of 100 ms or less during working hours, regardless of the type and number of devices using your Internet connection. You must also have account privileges and access to your Internet service provider account during working hours for the purposes of maintaining the Internet connection, if needed.
  • Office Locations: Often, these offices are either owned by the client we work with or by IEM. All candidates are expected to follow any rules and regulations of the office in which they are required to work for that project.
