Duties and Responsibilities |
General Lab management:
- Incorporates new protocols and methodology into work as directed by PI.
- Orders lab supplies and maintains orderly records of purchases.
- Oversee general lab spending.
- Maintains a safe and orderly lab environment. Ensures compliance with safety regulations.
- Provides routine communication between the lab and the PI.
- Provides management of technical and administrative activities in research lab.
Project management:
- Oversee the progression of several research projects in collaboration with graduate students.
- Independently performs experimental techniques and operate specialized equipment required to complete the project.
- Will set up and optimize experimental design and lab technique.
- Maintains knowledge, and detailed records, of the research being conducted by all members of the lab.
- Train members of the lab as appropriate.
- Supervises lab personnel, including progress of individual projects.
- Gathers, organizes, and records data. Performs analysis of results.
- Communicates with other departments and groups to aid in project progression.
- Coordinate time, people, and resources in order to progress all the projects.
- Assigned duties as needed.
