Laitram Machinery is looking for an Electrical Shop Supervisor for our Harahan, LA facility.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities
*Schedule and organize daily, weekly, and monthly goals for the Electrical Shop (ESHOP) team
*Manage resources effectively to ensure deadlines are met and quality standards are upheld
*Provide technical support with configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of electrical components including:
oPLCs, HMIs, VFDs, IPCs, and general motor control equipment
*Support Field Service team with technical assistance and troubleshooting
*Oversee operation and maintenance of all tools and equipment within area of responsibility
*Ensure compliance with all ESHOP processes, procedures, and safety protocols
*Lead training and cross-training efforts to maintain a flexible, high-performing team
*Conduct regularly scheduled Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean/5S exercises with team
*Monitor performance through data collection and metric reporting to drive decision-making
*Conduct regular performance reviews, disciplinary actions as needed, and facilitate team development
*Participate actively in department meetings and maintain open, effective communication

Requirements
*Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation & Controls Engineering, Associate's in Electrical Engineering Technology, or 6+ years' experience in motor control fabrication
*Minimum 3 years' experience in motor control systems or equivalent
*At least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role
*Familiarity with PLC programming languages (ladder logic, function block, structured text)
*Advanced troubleshooting skills for power and control circuitry
oAbility to use multimeters, process meters, and similar diagnostic tools
*Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
*Experience downloading and configuring PLC, HMI, and VFD software
*Strong organizational skills; able to manage shop order handling, labor tracking, and inventory software
*Strong leadership capabilities with a continuous improvement mindset
*Fluent in written and spoken English
*Familiar with Lean Manufacturing and 5S methodology
*Capable of adjusting plans to meet goals and manage unexpected challenges
*Must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as outlined in the job's functional description
Preferred Qualifications
*Prior experience as a Lead or Supervisor in an electrical production environment
*Technical experience with Windows OS:
oExecutable (.exe) and Batch (.bat) files
oCommand prompt scripts and Windows firewall settings
*Knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies in motor control and automation
