In partnership with and under the direction of Wealth Risk & Controls Assistant Directors, this role is responsible for supporting, building and advancing relationships while consulting on a wide variety of topics to advance the company's risk and controls culture while helping to ensure business objectives are achieved.

The Oversight and Controls Consultant is responsible for assisting with ownership of operational controls and oversight for risk associated with the offering of investment programs and services as well as broker-dealer products and services. This role will support Wealth risk programs and field and client issues along with providing support to third-party vendor risk management, BCP and policies & procedures for the broker/dealer and enterprise regulatory change efforts. This includes assisting with the coordination of technical, operational, controls, and regulatory requirements. In this role you are encouraged to interpret (internal and external) the needs of the team and our programs by being curious, innovative and solution oriented.

How will you do it?

  • Provides expertise and support for our risk management and oversight and controls programs through collaboration with our home office teams and stakeholders, vendors and field.

  • With limited direction and supervision, assists with ownership of small to moderate (with some large) operational controls and oversight for investment products, programs and services to mitigate risk.

  • Interprets customer (internal and external) needs and can explain and translate product or program features and functions into operational controls and processes to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.

  • Perform tasks such as research, analysis and documentation of exceptions, escalations, and issues.

  • Collects and analyze data and create reporting in presentation form to support various audiences.

  • Proactively identifies process improvements and works to implement sound solutions that ensure strong oversight controls and maintain efficiency.

  • May be asked to work with technology development teams to identify and create decision points and decision-making paths for risk, oversight and controls.

  • Participates in projects when needed.

Bring Your Best! What the role needs:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, finance, economics, or related equivalent combination of work experience.

  • 5 plus years of experience in financial services with an emphasis in regulatory, investment products and operations.

  • Understanding of business processes to aid in research, data analysis and reporting.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to develop risk and controls expertise, demonstrated ability to drive change within cross-departmental initiatives.

  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills, with ability to work within deadlines, prioritize work and multitask.

  • Proven excellence in problem solving and critical thinking, with the ability to research and resolve problems consistent with regulatory requirements.

  • Proven leadership skills including relationship building, collaboration, planning and organization.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • Requires FINRA SIE, Series 7 and Series 24.

Bonus skills:

  • Understands applicable rules and regulations to identify, assess and consult to mitigate risk.

  • Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices.

This position has been classified as a Registered Representative under NMIS guidelines and requires fingerprinting.Series 24 - FINRA, Series 7 - FINRA, SIE - FINRA

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$76,650.00

Pay Range - End:

$142,350.00

Geographic Specific Pay Structure:

195 - Structure 110: 84,350.00 USD - 156,650.00 USD 195 - Structure 115: 88,130.00 USD - 163,670.00 USD
