About the role

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for verifying the accuracy and compliance of all incoming waste materials at the facility. This role ensures that waste streams match their approved profiles, meet regulatory and site acceptance criteria, and are handled in accordance with environmental and safety standards. The technician plays a critical role in preventing non-conforming materials from entering processing areas, thereby supporting regulatory compliance, operational safety, and environmental protection.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and verify all incoming waste shipments to ensure they match approved profiles and manifest documentation.

  • Perform visual and physical inspections of containers, packaging, and labeling.

  • Document and report discrepancies between profile and actual material received.

  • Coordinate with waste profiling, customer service and lab teams to resolve discrepancies and approve/reject materials.

  • Collect samples and perform field screening (e.g., pH, reactivity, flammability) as needed on inbound and outbound loads.

  • Support load checks for random inspections in compliance with permit and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions taken.

  • Communicate effectively with drivers, generators, and facility staff regarding acceptance status.

  • Ensure adherence to all OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company-specific policies and procedures.

  • Assist with audits and regulatory inspections by maintaining organized documentation and providing technical support.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in waste acceptance and handling processes.

  • Support facility operations as needed, including safely operating equipment such as forklifts in accordance with OSHA standards and site-specific procedures. Participate in plant cleanup activities during downtime, while following all safety protocols, including the use of required PPE, and maintaining awareness of surroundings to prevent injury or equipment damage.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related field preferred.

  • Experience:

    • 5-10 years in quality control, waste management, or environmental services preferred.

    • Knowledge of waste regulations and profile review processes is a plus.

  • Skills/Knowledge:

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.

    • Basic understanding of hazardous/non-hazardous waste classification.

    • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

    • Computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, data entry systems).

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Frequent walking, standing, and manual inspection of drums, totes, and containers.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and wear appropriate PPE (e.g., respirators, gloves, Tyvek suits).

  • Exposure to various waste materials, odors, and weather conditions.

  • Work is conducted in both indoor and outdoor facility environments.

This position's expected hourly pay rate is $27.00 - $35.00.

This is a good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The final salary will consider various factors, including experience, ability, and location. Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and these ranges should not be considered career salary limits or caps.
