Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position $76,000 - $90,250 Max. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. About the Role:

Provide GFSE Support to JRTC, NTC and GF-N

Additional Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To:



  • Integrate with the 57 OG operational planning teams with the three (3) GF location operations planning teams, as required, to provide exercise life-cycle planning support, as defined by the squadron Directors of Operations (DOs) to plan and execute GF-N, NTC, JRTC, higher headquarters (HHQ), and other air-surface integration exercises, as required.


  • Presentation and SME support at USAF, USA, and USN planning conferences within 210 days of the events; tanker and visiting unit scheduling; pre-exercise leadership briefing development; and Master Air Attack Plan (MAAP) development. This planning support must encompass the entire planning cycle of each GF exercise.


  • Compiling and distributing planning conference minutes.


  • Planning support includes attending all customer-directed planning conferences, fully engaging with GF staff and unit exercise planners to integrate CAS and coordinating with the live-fire observer, coach, trainers (OCT) to safely integrate live-fire scenarios.


  • Assist in preparation and delivery of aircrew in-briefs at exercise locations, as required.


  • CAOC emulation throughout the GF-N exercise life cycle, to include Air Tasking Order (ATO) production, Master Air Attack Plan (MAAP) production, weekly SPINS, and Air Operations Directive (AOD) production. Additionally, GFSE may be asked to support production of the GF-N Airspace Control Plan (ACP), GF-N In-flight Guide, and GF-N standing SPINS.


  • Support will be extended to off-station aircraft supporting the exercise, which may include the following communities: AMC refueling, C2ISR, UAS, bomber, rescue, and fighter aircraft.


  • In addition to specific air-surface capabilities, provide support to Personnel Recovery (PR) missions taking place during GF-N execution.


  • As such, GFSE will be familiar with current USAF doctrinal guidance on personnel recovery tactics, C2, and integration with other forces in order to coordinate PR training objectives, conduct long-range and short-range planning for PR events. Planning may include coordinating for Recovery Vehicle (RV) and Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape Specialist (SERE) support during PR events, and interfacing and coordinating with U.S. Army planners to integrate PR events with NTC operations. During execution, GFSE may be asked to conduct scenario control and role playing for PR events, to include preparing rescue radios and survival vests with appropriate equipment, emulating the Joint Personnel Recovery Cell, debriefing participants, and writing applicable AARs as they pertain to PR events.


  • Provide the capability to assist in liaising with the Joint National Training Capability during the annual program budget request (PBR) process and regularly scheduled Joint accreditation process. Provide subject matter expertise in the accomplishment of program budget request (PBR) process. Provide SME input on the purchase of communications hardware, software, and services to facilitate after-action reporting (AAR). Provide SME input on exercise capabilities during the accreditation process


  • Perform other duties, as assigned.


Experience Requirements:



  • Experience as a rated officer liaising with ground elements and integrating air operations into military operations
  • Experience in tactical, military aviation conducting close air support, dynamic targeting, or other related operations integrated closely with surface elements.
  • Experience includes controlling attack aviation in military operations.
  • Experience working in an Air Support Operations Center or service- equivalent command and control node supporting air operations integrated with surface elements.
  • Experience with planning and executing search and rescue and personnel recovery operations and familiar with current USAF doctrinal guidance on personnel recovery tactics.
  • Must be familiar with rescue equipment used by aircrew and aircraft, Common Distress Reporting System (CDRS), and Personnel Recovery Management System (PRMS), Joint Publication 3- 50, and current TTPs.
  • USAF Rescue squadron experience highly desired.
  • Air Support Operations Center (ASOC) experience is highly desired


Education Requirements:



  • High School Diploma Required
  • Associate's Degree Desired
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
