Quality Inspector II

Hours: 7am to 3:30pm
PPE: safety glasses, steel toe shoes The Role: This position is responsible for incoming inspection of pump components to ensure the components meet drawing and customer requirements. Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities: * Inspects parts to ensure they meet drawing requirements with an emphasis on both accuracy and speed of inspection * Documents inspection by completing reports and logs * Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings and specifications * Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Purchasing when dealing with quality issues * Perform quality audits of manufacturing processes. * Follow and comply with safety standards Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification: * High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year as a Quality Technician/Inspector * Skills with use of mechanical gauging such as a micrometer, caliper, height stand, bore gauge, etc * Able to read blueprints/drawings * Proficient in Excel and Word * Analytical skills * Team player who can work efficiently and follow instructions * Forklift experience * Crane experience (site will train) Preferred Qualifications: * Experience using a portable CMM Physical Demands: * Manual dexterity to operate intricate test equipment. * Must be able to regularly lift components of up to 25 lbs. throughout an 8 hour shift. * Requires good vision and ability to adjust focus. * Regularly required to stand, reach, bend, squat, push, pull and move about the facility throughout an 8 hours shift. * Ability to work in areas involving heights, enclosed spaces, and near or above water. * Walk or stand at least 8+ hours per day. Work Environment: * Shop: Work with material handling equipment, hand tools, daily exposure to shop elements. |
