Position Highlights Lab Tech for a social psychology lab which studies questions pertaining to inequality, identity, and ideology. This position is responsible for assisting with designing, conducting, and publishing research studies; recruiting, training, and managing research assistants; assisting with grant funding applications and paperwork; and coordinating meetings, events, and timeslots. This is an in-person position, with the expectation of involvement with the everyday running of the lab.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assisting with designing, conducting, and publishing studies

  • Preparing literature reviews, survey materials, pre-registrations, and open science documentation.
  • Identifying, retrieving, and cleaning secondary datasets.
  • Primary data collection, management, and analysis.
  • Preparing and maintaining Institutional Review Board applications and compliance.

Recruiting, training, and managing research assistants

  • Recruiting research assistants through emails, fliers, or other sources.
  • Training research assistants regarding literature reviews, conducting studies, and interacting with participants.
  • Managing research assistant schedules.

Assisting with grant funding applications and paperwork

  • Identifying and researching grant funding opportunities.
  • Reviewing and editing grant funding applications.
  • Maintaining existing grant funding paperwork.

Coordinating meetings, events, and timeslots

  • Scheduling individual and lab meetings.
  • Coordinating participant timeslots.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in psychology or related discipline.
  • Previous research experience.

As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
