Pay Range - $17.66 - 27.17 per hour (Actual base pay based on factors such as relevant experience, education, market, qualifications, and skills)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Works under moderate supervision to perform functions associated with quality control and quality assurance operations including inspections, calibrations, creating inspection procedures and sampling plans for verification of product quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Performs complex functional tests and inspection following established procedures and work instructions. May update or create new work instructions related to quality processes.
  2. Maintains test machines, test fixtures, instruments and documentation related to department procedures. May be responsible for collection and storage of metrics or other key departmental records/data.
  3. Troubleshoots and repairs test and inspection equipment utilizing standard techniques for calibration and testing. This may not be the primary role, but technician will apply subject matter knowledge of all inspection tools and practices.
  4. Evaluates known quality issues identified by test and/or inspection results and reports findings in a professional and technical way to key members appropriately. Demonstrates business acumen in determining what and with whom to share information.
  5. Compiles quality data using appropriate tools, including excel, graphs, SPC charting methodology and customer specific reporting tools. Applies close vision, and computer vision to identify non-conformities.
  6. Is trained in the entire disposition process. Reviews and dispositions product, properly classifies defects identified through testing and/or inspection process. Understands escalation process clearly and can handle process questions for less experienced technicians or operators.
  7. Calibrates test equipment or lab machinery as needed to maintain QC/QA operations. May work with an outside vendor or subject matter experts to ensure compliance. Understands key company metrics and goals related to calibration and control.
  8. Solves routine production quality problems with standardized forms and solutions. Regularly participates in discussions and offers suggestions for new solutions or protocols.
  9. Works on assignments/projects that are moderately difficult, requiring independent judgment in resolving issues, identifying, and communicating with key parties, and in making recommendations. This may include creating new department procedures or work specifications. The technician 3 will apply wide QA experience to support other members projects as needed.
  10. Will perform in-process or other audits on behalf of the Quality department for a variety of functions in manufacturing. Must be able to walk, stand and crouch to visually inspect parts, machines, work process, interview machine operators, and create related documentation.
  11. Demonstrates effective, professional communications with a variety of employees, vendors, customers, and outside parties. This communication include verbal and written, as well reports, presentations, meetings, trainings, and phone calls.
  12. Demonstrate a very high degree of integrity and accuracy to ensure parts and processes create a high-quality part for our customers. Reports concerns or findings promptly to the appropriate parties.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 2 years related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
