Enbridge is actively seeking an Sr Pipeline Engineer. This dynamic person will provide broad technical knowledge of pipeline operations, engineering design practices, damage prevention and risk assessment. In this role you will also provide pipeline related project management for the OJV region. Work will include coordination of project scope development, budgeting, scheduling, contracting, design packages development, construction, and commissioning. You will engage with the assets Joint Venture partners, customers, and other departments within our Gas Transmission business. This role may include assisting in some commercial negotiations, asset investment planning and budgeting, and related administrative duties. The role understands the needs of the natural gas transmission business and have a strong understanding of operations practices and strategies to support the assets. Provide on-going technical support to Field Operations including analyzing a broad variety of technical issues, requiring the application of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. The roles independently manages the design and execution of projects with the intent to reduce or remove a risk or ensure compliance with applicable codes. Understand and apply all applicable CFR 192 code requirements to ensure engineering, materials selection, material testing, and intended operation meet all requirements. Understand and make decisions around the implementation of processes, projects, or procedures that have direct impacts to the overall system and the area operations personnel. Participate in engineering reviews of projects of varying scope and impact. Work with field operations to review assets from engineering perspective to identify and develop capital and operating budgets to improve efficiencies and reduce costs. Understand how to do simple as well as complex and abnormal load calculations to ensure integrity of the system is maintained. Work with Field Operations to create, review, analyze and approve gas handling procedures of varying complexity. Understand how to perform an engineering evaluation on third party encroachment requests including State DOT construction plans. Understand operational documentation requirements and be able to support corporate and field level audits.
Who You Are:
Bachelor's in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or other related Engineering Field Minimum of 7 years of experience in the pipeline transmission industry Understanding of CFR 192 and other relevant codes A collaborative team and service-oriented work style with excellent interpersonal skills. Committed to continuous technical learning and personal development. Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Preferred:
10 plus years of experience in the pipeline transmission industry Understanding of Liquids and Natural Gas operation and integrity programs Competencies: computer, communication, negotiation, purchasing, etc. Good technical background. Experience in Pipeline Integrity and Field Operations. Organizational skills are a necessity. Engineer needs to be capable of managing the oversight of multiple projects and tasks
Working Conditions:
Position is primarily office based, with up to 20% travel for projects and Operations field visits Extensive driving while going to various field locations. Must be able to travel by vehicle, airplane and helicopter if required High heat exposure risk at field locations Company paid international relocation is not offered for this role.
