SUMMARY:

SNF is seeking an Inspection Coordinator. The Inspection Coordinator will oversee the fixed equipment inspection program for the Plaquemine or the Riceboro site. This position will report to the Asset Integrity Manager.

LOCATION: Riceboro, GA or Plaquemine, LA

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Oversee the fixed equipment inspection program for the Plaquemine/Riceboro site, including performing API visual inspections, setting work scopes for contract resources, conducting inspection QA/QC, and managing IDMS data.
  • Provide technical knowledge and expertise while ensuring compliance with all relevant inspection and repair codes.
  • Plan and manage daily and weekly work for contract NDE resources in alignment with the maintenance organization and operations/production.
  • Review inspection reports and findings, and provide appropriate recommendations and paths forward, including any additional inspection activities that may be required.
  • Offer alteration and/or repair recommendations and plans for fixed equipment based on inspection findings and improvement suggestions.
  • Provide oversight for fixed equipment repairs and fabrication, on-site and off-site, including shop surveillance and development of inspection plans and hold points.
  • Recommend changes to inspection types and/or frequencies based on inspection history, current findings, changes in service, modifications in corrosion rates or mechanisms, and remaining life.
  • Drive improvements in the company's fixed equipment mechanical integrity program.
  • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis for complex or recurring issues.
  • Evaluate new technologies and alternatives for equipment inspection.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma Required. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in fixed equipment (piping, pressure vessels, atmospheric storage tanks), inspection/NDE, construction/QC, and/or maintenance.
  • API (510, 653, 570) certification preferred.
  • Active or current API certifications are strongly preferred: API 510, 653, or 570.
  • Supplemental certifications are preferred: API 580, 571, 579, AWS-CWI, and FRPI certification.
  • Strong working knowledge of PSM Mechanical Integrity requirements is essential.
  • Broad-based, hands-on experience with all types of fixed equipment is necessary.
  • A strong background in all relevant fixed equipment codes and standards is required, including (but not limited to) API 510, API 570, API 650/653, API RP 579, API RP 580/581, ASME Sec II, Sec V, Sec VIII, Sec IX, B31.1, B31.3, B16.5, and OSHA CFR 1910.119.
  • Technical skills in using and optimizing inspection data management software, including integrations with SAP, are expected as the transition to PCMS is underway.
  • Knowledge and experience in interpreting inspection reports, collecting data, conducting analysis, and providing corrective action recommendations are essential.
  • It is beneficial to have a good working knowledge of routine and advanced/specialized inspection techniques, such as UT, MT, PT, VT, B-scan, C-scan, UT shear wave, guided wave technology, and digital and computerized radiography.
  • Understanding repair techniques and procedures for stationary equipment and piping systems is necessary.
  • A broad knowledge of corrosion mechanisms and analysis techniques is required.
  • Experience in root cause failure analysis, particularly concerning stationary equipment, is expected.
  • It is crucial to communicate effectively using facts and figures, as well as to have skills in influencing, persuading, and negotiating. Strong interpersonal skills are required for this position. Knowledge and experience in providing technical guidance, support, and mentorship for less-experienced inspectors and NDE technicians are essential.
  • Able to travel up to 25% of the time.
