Essential Job Duties |
The College of Sciences Office of Advancement is looking for a detail-oriented, collaborative professional to lead business operations and financial management for the NC State College of Sciences Foundation, Inc.-a nonprofit organization with assets exceeding $45 million.
The foundation's mission is to connect private philanthropy with meaningful impact by supporting students, faculty, research, and programs across the college. This role is central to that mission, with a primary focus on managing private gift funds and supporting the financial integrity of our operations.
In this role, you will report to the Director of Strategic Engagement and Advancement Communications and will work closely with all members of the team, including the Assistant Dean of Philanthropy. We are a team-oriented office that values adaptability, customer service, and trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage budgets for scholarships, professorships, Foundation accounts within each department and unit of the college, and the foundation's annual operating funds
- Ensure spending aligns with university and state guidelines
- Maintain accurate records of fund purposes, gift agreements, and financial documents
- Prepare and analyze financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee payroll, purchase card payments, vendor forms, and account setup
- Process donations in coordination with Advancement Services
- Stay up to date on financial policies and best practices
- Edit team communications and document internal procedures
- Serve as liaison with key university offices, including College Business Office, University Treasurer, University Advancement and a variety of other University Offices.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports provided to a variety of internal and external offices.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
Bachelor's degree with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or Associate's degree in Accounting; or Associate's degree in Business or related discipline with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |

- Highly organized with a systematic approach to maintaining records

- Adaptability to learn and use new technology for financial management
