Description
As MISO's Network Engineer I, you'll leverage your expertise in network automation and deep experience with Palo Alto firewalls to engineer and implement enterprise-grade WAN, LAN, and telecommunications infrastructure. In this role, you'll drive scalability and performance across our network, provide support, evaluate and integrate solutions, and mentor analysts while helping shape the future of our network and telecom environment through innovation and emerging technologies. Starting Salary Range: $125,000 - $144,000 - position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. What you'll do as MISO's Network Engineer I:
- Leverage the Palo Alto platform to automate firewall administration, deploy policies, and perform policy cleanup tasks.
- Implements highly technical Cisco routing and switching configurations into environments.
- Demonstrate high adaptability and flexibility, with the ability to seamlessly take on multiple roles and respond effectively to a wide range of technical scenarios in both physical and virtual environments.
- Serve as an escalation point, directing diagnostics, troubleshooting, and resolution efforts across LAN/WAN/telecom infrastructure.
- Oversee the evaluation, planning, and deployment of hardware and software releases to meet business, security, and quality standards.
- Lead the transition of new network and telecom services into production, ensuring compliance with testing protocols and service level requirements for projects and/or initiatives.
- Analyze enterprise-wide infrastructure performance and drive continuous improvement in reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Be part of a 24x7 on-call shift rotation.
Skills/Experience we are looking for our Network Engineer I:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or 8+ years of relevant work experience.
- Palo Alto firewall deployments.
- Cisco Experience:
- Cisco IOS
- Cisco IOX-XE
- Cisco NX-OS
- Cisco ACI
- f5 load balancers.
- Software Defined Networking (SDN)-related technologies and services.
- Proficient with scripting and relevant coding languages and practices such as Python, REST, Ansible, Terraform, GitHub.
- Innovative with the ability to think creatively and independently to troubleshoot and develop solutions to solve complex network problems.
Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
