Position DescriptionENSCO Inc is a diverse engineering and technology company that provides engineering, science and advanced technology solutions that guarantee mission success, safety, and security to governments and private industries worldwide. We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)/Integrated Experiments and Evaluation Division (RVE) to provide support in cradle to grave efforts. Responsibilities include:
- Support assembly and integration tasks, including:
- Space technology assembly and integration support.
- Spacecraft bus, payload, and experiment assembly and integration within government facilities.
- Assistance with hardware/software procurement and other direct costs during assembly and integration.
- Maintenance and upgrade support for government integration capabilities; to include the equipment and capabilities outlined in the government furnished property and base support list and future capabilities.
- Directly support flight operations, including:
- Spacecraft on-orbit operations and experimentation including on-call support as required.
- Development of forward-looking anomaly prediction and detection algorithms and software.
- Development of vehicle fault detection reporting systems.
- Support configuration management processes of procedures, scripts, vehicle tables, vehicle parameters, vehicle fault detection and response trees, and ground software items throughout the life of the mission.
- Support government technology transfer efforts, including:
- Technical reach back support for mission partners after technology transition.
- The contractor will prepare documentation for all systems engineering activities related to transition of flight assets to operational users.
- Support in the development of government flight experiment and space technology requirements, mission scope, design tradeoffs/alternatives, concepts of operation, mission constraints, conceptual designs, and mission analyses.
Qualifications Required:
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant experience in the defense industry.
- Strong expertise in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, and Java, with the ability to write efficient, reliable, and maintainable code.
- Experience with embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and flight software integration.
- Familiarity with hardware/software integration, including interaction with flight instrumentation, sensors, and other avionics systems.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including the integration of software with other subsystems in a mission-critical environment.
- Proficiency with software testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, and system validation in a flight test environment.
- Hands-on experience with debugging and troubleshooting software issues in real-time systems, particularly during flight tests or operational environments.
- Knowledge of military standards and defense industry regulations for software development and systems integration (e.g., DO-178C, MIL-STD-498).
- Experience with DevOps practices, including version control, continuous integration, and automated testing tools.
- AN ACTIVE DOD TOP SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE with SCI ELIGIBILITY IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION FOR WHICH, YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN
