Position DescriptionENSCO Inc is a diverse engineering and technology company that provides engineering, science and advanced technology solutions that guarantee mission success, safety, and security to governments and private industries worldwide. We are seeking an experienced Staff Systems Engineer to support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)/ Integrated Experiments and Evaluation Division (RVE) to provide support in cradle to grave efforts. Responsibilities include:
- Support the design and fabrication of ground-based proofs- of-concept, experiments, and demonstrations.
- Support in the development of government flight experiment and space technology requirements, mission scope, design tradeoffs/alternatives, concepts of operation, mission constraints, conceptual designs, and mission analyses
- Perform analyses and evaluations accomplished through relevant experimental testing, modeling and simulation, and engineering analysis.
- Support Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) when/where applicable/requested, including requirements definition, design, analysis, and verification/validation activities beginning in the conceptual design phase and continuing throughout program life cycle.
- Support Hardware/Software-in-the-Loop and Cloud Computing Architecture development and administration tasks.
- Draft, prepare, revise, and review design documentation.
- Support full life-cycle technology implementation tasks, including:
- Laboratory research, test and assessment design, technology validation testing and experimentation.
- Re-engineering and re-design of software and hardware after testing.
- Support assembly and integration tasks.
- Support flight experiment mission and operations planning.
Qualifications Required:
- 10+ years of experience in systems engineering for innovative solutions in the defense industry
- Experience in classified space systems including ground systems, satellite payload/bus, and networking systems (concepts, architecture, development including requirements, build and integration, and test, and operations)
- Demonstrated ability to organize and conduct system level technical design reviews and audits
- Provide expertise in systems engineering and analytics to support the mission and space systems designs.
- Strong background in requirements analysis, mission scope definition, and conceptual design for complex defense systems.
- Proven experience performing design trade-offs, evaluating alternatives, and making data-driven decisions to support mission objectives and system performance.
- Expertise in mission analysis tools and techniques to model, simulate, and assess system performance under various operational conditions.
- Deep understanding of system architectures, design principles, and integration practices within the defense industry.
- AN ACTIVE DOD TOP SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE with SCI ELIGIBILITY IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION FOR WHICH, YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN.
Qualifications Desired:
- Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), Information Technology, computer science or similar from a regionally accredited institution.
- Professional certification (e.g., Professional Engineer, INCOSE CSEP, ITEA CTEP, Agile PM/PO, etc.).
- RF experience
- RMA experience such as:
- Performing reliability analyses, including allocations, predictions, and FMECAs
- Executing reliability test activities, such as HALT, accelerated aging, and HASS development
- Developing and conducting technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts
