Moog Industrial Group is looking for a Strategic Marketing Business Partner, Slip Ring & Marine (SRM) Division.

You will primarily be responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of the marketing strategy within the SRM Division. In this role, you will be a full member of the Division leadership team and will work with Division leadership (including GMs and functional leaders) and the Group Director of Marketing and Strategy to identify marketing priorities specific to the Division and develop and implement marketing plans to support overall Division objectives, including the successful realization of financial targets.

You will lead all strategic marketing efforts within the Division, including helping identify potential new growth opportunities, and working with sales, engineering, and product management to successfully bring value-added solutions aligned with those opportunities to market. You will also serve on the Industrial Group Marketing Leadership Team (IGMLT), collaborating with group level resources and counterparts in other Divisions to share strategic insights, identify best practices and ensure a common approach to marketing activities across the Group. You will report to the Director, IG Marketing & Strategy. Remote and hybrid work schedules may be considered.

As a Strategic Marketing Business Partner you will....

  • Serve as a key member of Divisional leadership team; work with Divisional leadership (through a dotted-line reporting relationship to Division GM) to develop and implement overall Divisional strategy, including providing input and guidance in the area of strategic planning. Work with Group Marketing & Strategy Director to develop and execute marketing plans and activities that support Divisional priorities and objectives.

  • Lead all facets relating to strategic marketing, including monitoring and analyzing market, customer, technology, and competitor trends; collaborate with Division leadership to ensure Division and segment/entity-level strategies (including LRP) are aligned with these trends, as well as 80:20 principles / framework.

  • Identify and evaluate potential new growth opportunities based on market/customer insights (including Voice of Customer or similar, as well as 80:20 framework); map emerging market needs and collaborate with key stakeholders in engineering and product management to define, develop, and validate solution concepts that meet these needs (including QFD or similar); ensure solutions are well-aligned with customer input and feedback. Engage in direct-with-customer business development discussions to investigate and validate customer business needs and help map these to potential new growth opportunities for Moog.

  • Play a key role in the launch of new products / solutions to the market (including through processes such as NPI, CPI, etc.); define and educate both sales (internal) and customers (external) about Moog's differentiation / value proposition, and ensure product branding, positioning, and messaging are effective and consistent. Work closely with product management and sales to define value-added pricing strategies, including ongoing pricing analysis and intelligence.

  • As a member of the IGMLT, collaborate with Group-level marketing resources and SMBPs in other Divisions to help identify and leverage organizational needs and best practices for Marketing function in the areas of talent and capability; share Division-specific insights around external strategic trends ensure common view across key IG focus markets, and, where applicable, identify potential areas for cross-Division synergy.

  • Work closely with 'central' Marketing functions (Customer Engagement, Global Systems & Processes - including marketing communications / digital engagement, content and branding, CRM, etc.) to design commercialization / go-to-market campaigns and activities to support Division-specific priorities (e.g., new growth vectors, etc.).

  • In collaboration with Divisional leadership, identify, investigate, and evaluate potential acquisition and partnership opportunities aligned with overall strategic objectives; maintain a robust pipeline of potential candidates, including leading regular progress reviews; (where relevant) develop relationships with key contacts to determine potential interest / fit.

  • Engender a best practice approach to people management, acting as coach, facilitator, and role model. Promote and support diverse viewpoints, backgrounds, ways of thinking, and a "global" mindset. Act as a guardian of the Moog Culture and Values.

To be considered for the Strategic Marketing Business Partner, here's what you'll need to bring with you...

  • Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in marketing or a related function (e.g., business development); previous experience in a leadership role and/or managing people preferred.

  • Ability to understand basic technical aspects of a product and/or customer application; some level of engineering experience or proficiency preferred.

  • Strong collaborative approach and mindset; ability to work in a consultative / supportive capacity to enable the success of P&L owners (Division/entity GMs)

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; ability to think strategically, particularly around external data and trends, with the ability to analyze large quantities of data and synthesize them into actionable recommendations.

  • Proficiency in marketing automation tools, CRM systems, and analytics platforms.

  • Travel (up to 40%) required, including international.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $125,000.00-$170,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
