Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Drives truck to deliver such items as beer, wine, liquor, and point of sale items to customer's place of business.
- Collects returnable items and empty containers from businesses and transports containers back to the distribution center for consolidation and shipment back to suppliers.
- Inspects loads and ensures proper packing and security is in place in order to reduce product breakage and vehicle damage.
- Conducts an inventory of truck contents. Retrieves overages and accounts for shortages.
- Reviews content of the truck to ensures vehicle is loaded correctly. Checks the distribution of the weight and product on the vehicle to ensure it is safe and stable.
- Collects and coordinates payments from customers and records transactions on customer receipt.
- Records delivery information using provided delivery record.
- Listens to and resolves service complaints.
- Resolves issues when possible.
- Coordinates customer comments and service issues with transportation management for proper resolution.
- Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
- Provides preventative maintenance and safety checks on their vehicle by conducting DOT regulated pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Management.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have a valid Class C driver's license. Must meet requirements to receive a Department of Transportation Card at the time of the physical examination.
