What You Will Do:

As a Gas Control Resource Planner, you will play an essential role within our Gas Control Department, reporting to the Gas Control Supervisor. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:



  • Verify Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM) volumes being are being correctly imported into gas-balancing software. Document any corrections and verify accuracy with measurement department.
  • Ensure gas nominations match with producer and interconnecting pipeline's software
  • Interface with gas supply department to make sure changes and target volumes are being communicated to gas controllers. Track operational balancing agreement volumes to ensure they are within targets. Ensure any changes follow our control room management requirements. Develop policies and documents to improve interdepartmental communications.
  • Work with the accounting department to ensure correct volumes are transmitted for billing.
  • Manage in-ground volumes for the storage facility and ensure in-ground transfers are accounted for. Create and verify reports used by the storage facility for reporting purposes.
  • Ensure company use gas is being accounted for and incorporated into Lost and Unaccounted For (LAUF) calculation.
  • Acts as a super user of the Gas Ops/Pipe Ops software system to track nominations, actuals, and allocations data, including reporting, customer interface, training, and day-to-day functions.
  • Review and prepare transport billing reads monthly. Check volumes for any deviations and ensure units are correct before transmittal to accounting.
  • Maintain gas control operator qualifications and knowledge of the gas controller duties.


What You Will Bring:



  • Bachelor Degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years gas/pipeline/utility industry experience and support staff functions.
  • 3-5 years of experience in gas balancing, operational dispatching, pipeline operations or equivalent.
  • Ability to professionally and effectively: perform the job functions and requirements, to communicate with the public, contractors, governmental agencies and representatives, work with other company departments and department personnel to accomplish company objectives.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written form and to effectively utilize current technologies.
  • Excellent organizational skills.


Preferred skills and qualifications:



  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management, staff and contractors; exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others.
  • Practical knowledge of pipeline operations, application of Boyles/Charles gas laws, development of gas models for gas balancing, gas measurement and application of electronic instruments.
  • Must be detail oriented; superior organizational, information management and follow-up skills.
  • Good understanding of departmental policies and procedures and how they relate to the goals of the Company.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to effectively understand and communicate policies and procedures.
  • Practical knowledge of SCADA system configuration and operation.
