This job opening is in KLA's advanced mask software product group. The group develops state-of-the-art computational algorithms and software applications that leading-edge semiconductor mask-shops and wafer fab customers use in production to get the best possible sensitivity and performance from their mask inspection and review systems. As director of this group, the candidate will have the unique opportunity to lead and be responsible for the business, products, customer engagements and talented engineering team developing these software products.

Responsibilities:

Followingaresome of the responsibilities of the Director of Mask Computational Software Products Group:

  • Own and drive all aspects of the software group business, P&L, product strategy, customer engagements and development and field engineering
  • Directly engage with mask-shop and fab reticle requal customers to understand their most challenging problems in the areas of mask inspection and defect disposition, propose solutions using advanced computational software and algorithms, then drive the development and deployment on these solutions to resolve their issues
  • Come up with innovative application use-case ideas and find continuous improvements in production mask-making and reticle requal flows
  • Leverage advanced image processing, optical and lithography modeling, and numerical and AI methods to come up with unique and advanced software offerings in the mask defect disposition space
  • Develop and socialize clear requirements for new use-cases, and brainstorm on possible technology approaches with algo, software and expert application engineers
  • Build strong positive relationships and credibility with internal engineering teams, key customers and field teams leveraging their strengths and support to deliver on software solutions
  • Drive key projects and customer engagements through weekly progress meetings
  • Work harmoniously across functional and division teams
  • Prepare and deliver periodic program updates and clearly communicate progress, issues, help needed and plans with senior management
  • Travel up to 25-50% to better sync with customers, development engineering and field and account teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track-record working with customers in semiconductor industry, committing and delivering on software solutions to improve mask or wafer yield and turn-around-time
  • Strong team player, able to lead and influence teams. Experience managing development teams of 10+ engineers
  • Experience insemiconductor lithography modeling, OPC/Verification, mask inspection and/or defect disposition
  • Familiarity with UNIX/Linux programming, MATLAB and scripting in Shell, Python, Perl, PHP, or HTML
  • Understand software development, test,release, and qualificationcycle
  • Excellentcommunication, project management, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving skills and perseverance, self-driven yet strong team player

Minimum Qualifications

Masters level degree in a technical field with at least10 years of experience in Semiconductor Mask Inspection, software or OPC industry

OR

Doctorate (Academic) in a technical field with at least 5 years of experience in Semiconductor Mask Inspection, software or OPC industry

Base Pay Range: $210,900.00 - $369,100.00 Primary Location: USA-CA-Milpitas-KLA KLA's total rewards package for employees may also include participation in performance incentive programs and eligibility for additional benefits including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, life, and other voluntary benefits, 401(K) including company matching, employee stock purchase program (ESPP), student debt assistance, tuition reimbursement program, development and career growth opportunities and programs, financial planning benefits, wellness benefits including an employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off and paid company holidays, and family care and bonding leave.
