Painters (1st & 2nd Shift)

STS Technical Services is hiring experienced Manufacturing Painters for 1st and 2nd shifts at our facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. If you take pride in precision work, know your way around a spray gun, and want to be part of a team that values quality and reliability, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare steel and aluminum surfaces for painting through cleaning, masking, sanding, grinding, or blasting operations.
  
• Apply industrial coatings using conventional and air-assisted spray equipment.
  
• Paint large fuel tanks, generator enclosures, structural steel frames, and other fabricated products according to customer specifications.
  
• Mix and apply two-part paint systems while maintaining proper coating thickness and finish quality.
  
• Inspect completed work for quality, appearance, and compliance with project requirements.
  
• Perform touch-ups and corrective work as needed.
  
• Troubleshoot paint application issues and recommend process improvements.
  
• Maintain painting equipment, tools, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
  
• Work closely with production and quality teams to meet manufacturing schedules and customer expectations.
  
• Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and PPE requirements.
  

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial painting experience is required.
  
• Experience applying industrial coatings, epoxies, polyurethanes, or similar heavy-duty paint systems is strongly preferred.
  
• Experience painting large fabricated steel products, structural steel, heavy equipment, tanks, trailers, or similar industrial components preferred.
  
• Experience operating spray equipment and applying two-part paint systems.
  
• Automotive painting experience alone is not sufficient unless combined with industrial or commercial coating experience.
  
• Ability to read measurements, work instructions, and customer specifications.
  
• Manufacturing or production environment experience required.
  
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
• Flexibility to support changing production priorities and occasional overtime as needed.
  
• Must pass a competency test, spray test, and pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
