Position for an energetic, team player as an Optical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of optical components and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of optical solutions into products. Your work will involve both theoretical modeling and hands-on prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, simulate, and analyze optical systems and components, such as lenses, mirrors, prisms, lasers, and fiber optics.
  • Develop and implement testing protocols for optical components and systems, ensuring compliance with performance specifications.
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate optical systems into larger product assemblies.
  • Conduct hands-on laboratory work, including alignment, calibration, and performance testing of optical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize optical designs for performance improvements and cost reductions.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in optical technologies and methodologies.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in optical design, analysis, and testing.
  • Proficiency in optical design software.
  • Solid understanding of optics principles (geometrical optics, wave optics, polarization, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with optical troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with optomechanical and electro-optical systems.
  • Experience with alignment and calibration of complex optical setups.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards in optics (ISO, FDA, etc.).
