Under the supervision of the Director of Inpatient Pharmacy, you will perform a variety of essential pharmacy functions focused on controlled substances and medication inventory management. As the Vault Pharmacist, you will be responsible for overseeing the secure storage, distribution, and auditing of controlled substances in accordance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with the Pharmacy Business Office to ensure proper procurement, maintain appropriate inventory levels throughout the Health System, and support clinical services through timely medication distribution.

Your duties will include responding to regulatory inquiries (e.g., DEA), performing audits required by the California Board of Pharmacy, and managing investigational and expired medications housed in the vault. You'll collaborate with clinical teams, provide input on cost-effective inventory solutions, and support the safe and compliant delivery of pharmaceutical services across inpatient areas.

Schedule: varied shifts, depending on department needs, including weekends and holidays

Hourly Salary Range: $85.87 - $100.58 (Union represented, step-based salary depending on years of experience)

Bargaining Unit: HX-UPTE

Qualifications

We're
seeking a dedicated clinical professional with:



  • Pharm D. degree and current CA
    Pharmacy license
  • ASHP-accredited residency
    (preferred)
  • 2 years inpatient pharmacy
    experience
  • Knowledge of DEA and California
    Board of Pharmacy regulations for controlled substances
  • Exceptional communication,
    interpersonal, organizational, and follow-through skills
  • Strong analytical skills and
    the ability to manage medication inventory systems
  • Ability to compound intravenous
    admixtures and other sterile products
  • Familiarity with
    investigational drug management and regulatory audits
