Summary of Job Duties:The Student Success Communications Manager supports the Walton College Student Success units' undergraduate communication strategy. This position is also responsible for attending events, programs and activities as appropriate to ensure photos/videos, generative videos, and creating graphic design elements for communications materials. The role contributes to the team's efforts by helping with various projects and events as needed. This position will work collaboratively with the Walton College marketing and communications team as a liaison to coordinate the communication strategy, identify points of alignment, and drive updates to the website and other digital content.

Regular, non-disruptive, and in-person reliable attendance is an essential job duty, as well as the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. This position will require office hours of 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday, with in-person support of programming/events during office hours and occasionally nights and weekends. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education, preferably in communication, public relations, or a related discipline

  • At least two years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, social media, or a related field

  • Demonstrated superior written and visual communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Omni Update

  • Demonstrated experience with Adobe suite, namely Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop

  • Demonstrated experience with current web technologies, including CSS, HTML, and JavaScript

  • Experience in a higher education communications setting requiring interaction with constituents across many levels

  • Experience working with interns and freelance staff

  • Demonstrated photography and videography skills or have a strong understanding of skills with the ability to capture high-quality images to create visual narratives

  • Experience in the management and optimization of websites, social media platforms, and other communication/marketing channels

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative

  • Attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated capacity to meet deadlines

  • Excellent client relation skills

  • High level of interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

  • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of social media networks and effective branding

  • Demonstrated excellent training and coaching skills

  • Ability to hire, train, and manage team of freelance and student interns/worker

  • Ability to develop methods to evaluate the effectiveness of overall efforts and to take corrective/sustaining action as needed

  • Ability to communicate accomplishments to stakeholders

Salary Information:

$48,000-$52,000
